Paintball is very safe as long as you follow the rules and use common sense as with any sport. Minor injuries can occur such as strains and sprains that are associated with all action sports. Paintballs can also leave minor bruises. Severe injuries can result when players are not following the rules such as removing their mask, etc.

Will paintballs stain my clothing?
As a general rule, paintballs will not stain clothing or fabrics; however certain brands of paintballs can stain certain light-colored fabrics, depending on the dye used. Best tip is to play in darker colored clothing to avoid staining your new white or yellow shirt.
What Gear do I need to play Paintball?
There are four basic pieces of paintball gear that you need to play paintball:
Mask | worn at all times to protect your face and prevent serious injury
Hopper | holds your paintballs and feeds them into your gun/marker
Tank | holds stored air which pushes the ball down the barrel. CO2 or compressed air tank
Paintball gun/marker | individual choice, shoots paintballs at your opponents
Paintballs | available in all different colors and prices, more expensive paint typically performs better.
